Are you a warrior?

Happy Wednesday, I know, I know I am a day behind on the weigh in but I had a really cool adventure yesterday and I didn't weigh in. But I will let you know about my crazy day trip soon...I was so tired I didn't even get to download my pictures yet! Ha.

So let me ask you....
ARE YOU A WARRIOR?
Somehow, I was convienced it was a good idea to start training for the 2012 Warrior Dash.  Um, Serena? Joni? How did this happen? Honestly, I think I was so excited to get back to Zumba last week I just agreed to anything Serena said! Ha. Just kidding, I am really excited to start this!  A couple reasons:
  • Its muddy!
  • Its Fun!
  • Its a challenege!
  • Time with good friends
Click here to check out the website about the Warrior Dash. And this is a picture of my best friends who perviously completed the dash. Or check out their facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/WarriorDash?sk=app_7146470109#!/WarriorDash?sk=photos

See now doesn't that look FUN???

Zumba-I have missed you!

Last night was my first night back to Zumba since I went to TN in June. Man, I have missed it.  I have missed the ladies, the moves, the music and most of all, I have missed how I feel after a good solid hour of moving, punching, kicking and having a blast!

We celebrated a little last night (thanks Serena) myself and another girl, Cassie, have lost good amounts of weight.  It was nice (and a little embrassing) to see the support of fellow Zumba goers!

Next step, personal trainer! Oh Serena in a long, high pitch, naggie voice :)

Have a great Friday!

Week 18 Weigh In and Radom thoughts....

Happy Tuesday, can you believe the 4th of July is over? I cannot. I had an amazing time this weekend with family and friends. I truly love this holiday. Here a few pictures from over the weekend...(which freaks me out as I have never really posted a picture of myself...)

This is me at Kings Garden Vineyard  I am very lucky that we live in wine country...and that I love it!

PBR and I outside of Wagner. They have an amazing brewery.

My sister and I at the parade on the 4th.

This picture is totally for my sister, she loves a patrotic tootsie roll-can't blamer her!

Next up the weekly weigh in.  I cannot believe it when I read the Wii this morning! I actually weighed myself 3 times, just to make sure and triple checked-ha!

Pounds this week: 6
Total pounds: 40

Sorry I need to say this:
HOLY CRAP!!!!!
Ahhhh, so exciting! I actually might cry-I am really proud of myself. Honestly. I have been a little low lately (emotionally) and really needed this. I did. I never thought when I started this I would see that. Wow!

I have set another goal-because thats how I roll (did you catch that ryhming?)-by August 7 I want to loose 10 lbs. Making that an even 50 (huh, what, wait a minute did that say 50?). You are probably thinking why that day? Becaue that's when I go to the Speidie Fest and CY is going to be there. HA!

I am happy to report on this Tuesday its going to be a glorious, sunny, fun filled, happy Tuesday! I hope there is something today that makes you feel awesome as I do right now.
(Oh-and I have another little secret I have to ask permission to blog about first :) )

Guilt...

Okay, in NY around this time of year the weather is typicall hot and humid- days like today don't really come alone that often becuase it was nice, sunny, and breezy- today I took advantage of that!

I feel guilty but...I sat outside reading my new book. Ahh, I needed a mental break- and to boot I got a kick butt farmers tan!

My view at lunch:

We have a dance competition tomorrow in Rochester and then 4th of July activities the rest of the weekend.

Have a great day!

A wise Art Teacher once quoted...

Today on facebook my high school art teacher put on the news feed:
An old man once said:
"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living."

Thanks Mrs. C for reminding me of this.

Happy Wednesday!

Week 17-Back on Track

Happy Tuesday!

Can you believe its the last week in June! I cannot! The time is flying by. We are so busy that I honestly think that summer will be gone before I have time to enjoy it, if you know what I mean.

This is the first time I have weighed myself since I went to TN, I was a little nervous!  I will not lie! Ha.

Since we ate this:
These are PBR's favorite things: Fried Pickles.  I know sort of gross, but she insisted I try them.  She perfers the spears as you taste more pickles than fry stuff. They were ok-I am not sure I will run out and get them tomorrow but...with a beer, ok.

And these:

I guess you are in the south when Fritters are just placed before you.  I told PBR that I have never had them-she replies "Don't freak out there is corn in them" Ha! So funny-I didn't, but I really appriciated the warning none the less.  They were good-mainly reminded me of an elephant ear you get a fair. But hello they had powdered sugar on them...who can go wrong.

Those two pictures alone you can see why I was a little hesitant to jump on the scale...but I did this morning. Even after a wedding and birthday party this weekend, and I am happy to report:

Pounds this week: 4 (over a few weeks)
Total pounds: 34 (WHAT??!!?!)

Have a great Tuesday!

I'm back--Has this ever happend to you?

Hello! I am back, I went to TN and well...I LOVED IT!

Updates: Yes I lost that final pound before TN, I haven't weighed myself since I have been back, that will happen on Monday, June 27.  I am a little scared. Not that PBR and I ate a lot but we didn't always eat right. Which is to be expected since we were on vacation! Ha. We were very busy as well, concerts daily and nightly! So much fun!

First, check out my sneakers, has this ever happend to you? I never have...strange.

Second, below are a few pictures from TN, enjoy!

Have a great week!

Week 13

Hello and happy Tuesday!

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day-I spent time with some great friends and my family; went to Old Navy got some great $3 tees and Mother Nature gifted me with yet another farmers tan-this time RED! Oops-I guess I forgot the sun screen on myself-the kids had it however.

Total Weight Loss: 29 lbs
Days to TN: 8 days

I cannot believe that TN is only a week away. The list has started to form.  And my goal is 30 lbs before I leave for TN-1 lb to go...here is hoping I can get rid of that by next week! I will be one happy little chica!

Have a great Tuesday!

Wait, what the H did that just say?

3.10685596

3.10685596

Wonder what that number is? That is a 5 K in miles and I did it.  I said I had a personal goal to achieve which was walk my very first 5K.  And I had the pleasure of walking with my mom, best friend, Brooke and a mutual friend Cindy.  The Guthrie Gallop took place May 7, 2011-and I lived to tell about it!

Don't we look all perky and pretty
**Insert Nana and Cindy-picture will not load correctly**

The above picture is of me and Brooke before the big start.  The 10 K runners started before us (thank goodness) and we started at 10 am.  We checked in, got our numbers and shoe thing-a-bobs (they track when go across the line-I am sure they have a very technical name but I have no clue).  As usual my shins started killing me with in the first mile-ugh, someday I will figure out why that is-but around mile 2 they just went numb...so we worked with it!

I am proud to say that I didn't die or give up...
  • Was I the first: nope
  • Did I have fun: yep
  • Am I proud of myself for doing it: yep
  • Will I do another: hopefully
  • Plans for next year:  RUN (what did I just say?) But realistically I should be MUCH lighter by then so.....fingers crossed.
So- I am sure you are wondering our time...it was right around 57 minutes.  Which I guess isn't too bad and about right on for me as I walk 2 miles in 45/50 minutes during the week.

Here we are after:

Mussed hair, no sunglasses...looking like we just walked 3 miles in the sun! Ha.

They provided us with healthy, fun snacks and pizza. I find that completely comical!

Here's to next year and marking that off my bucket list (which I am working on)!

Week 12-Check in

*Week 12*
How did that happen? Wait, what, its been three months already? Holy Cow! (from the mouth of PJ).

I cannot believe it, I thought this morning I didn't loose anything when I weighed myself, but I guess I shouldnn't do 'higher' math so early in the morning because after using a calculator I actually lost 3 lbs! Yeah! I am only 3 lbs away from my goal and 16 days to kick ass to do it in.

Total loss: 27 lbs!
Days until TN: 16
(sputter, spat, humm, what the...16 days)

I will happily report that I recieved our tickets in the mail and texted P and said...are you ready? Her reply...YAY!!!

So I guess we are both excited....

Week 11 Check in

Well Ithaca, I love you...to a point...but mother nature needs to get a butt kicking! Dear lord it started raining on Saturday and it is supposed to rain all the way until next Sunday! 8 days straight! Lord help us.

I lost 0 lb!!

Yes, a goose egg!

Total loss: 24 lbs!
Days until TN: 23

I know why I didn't loose, I continued my normal workout except on Friday I didn't go to the gym...I was out of town Friday and Saturday which means eating out. I didn't make the best choices in regards to meals-I clearly know that.  I even...gasp...had ice cream.  It was just me and Alyvia-I couldn't say no to her!

This week, back on track regarding eating...the excersing I have found I actually really like-really during the day I like that is de-stresses me! Ha. Its nice to get away from the office too.

Next week could get tricky, its senior week and graduation here at work so the track I walk at is closed from 26-31 so I am hoping for nice weather to walk at the outside track or I might have to do laps in my livingroom-tee he.

The goal is still 30 lbs before TN-I still think it is possible-just need to focus and get to it!  It comes out to 2 lbs a week....

WISH ME LUCK!

EIGHT

Yesterday, admittedly was a terrible day!  So after a nice dinner with friends and the kids went to bed I hit the track. It was a nice night-chilly 50's but still workable. I started walking around town well since it was dark and I am not the most coordinated person I about killed myself 50 times, that's when I called it and headed to the track.  Well I ended up walking for 8 miles! Yep EIGHT!  Needless to say my legs felt like jello and my mind still wasn't clear.

But, hey at least I went for a walk rather than eating an awesome dessert of some sort! Something like this:

Oh and the twisted part while I was walking around and around and around I was texting a friend, what does she do...sends me a picture of her bowl of ice cream! She is such a goober!
this is her bowl of ice cream (sorry took via cell)

Weigh in tomorrow...lets see what happens!

Best Friends in the world-I have them

Have you ever had a friend say something that just shocked you?
~and not in a bad way?~

We went to a friends house the other night for his birthday, my friend K asked me how much weight I have lost, she said she was really proud of me.  Thanks K. Then we had idle chit chat-her and her husband coach the strangest (not strange but not the most common) sports.  She is the volleyball coach and the tennis coach, her husband, P, coaches bowling, badminton and football (that's 'normal') and he is also the drivers ed teacher.  They both are physical education teaches one in middle/high school and the other in elementary. I respect them dearly, they have three great sons!

So it was time to leave and P gave me a hug and kissed my head and said he was proud of me too.  I don't know why but I started to tear up. I am not sure if its because he expressed his feelings or what it was, either way I felt really special in that moment to have such amazing friends in my life.

I am truely thankful each day!

Week 7 check in

Happy Tuesday!

I lost 1 lb!!

Total loss: 18 lbs!
Days until TN: 51 -Holy Moley!
Well, I know why the loss was low-Sunday I made cookies two new kinds (check out my other blog:simpleinspiredhomemade.blogspot.com) if you want to check that out-but I am a SUCKER for raw cookie dough. I know, I know one should not eat such indulging items-seriously who can resist! So needless to say I ate my fill on it. Dang it!  It probably is sitting right back to my butt-like a brick!  The days until TN are dwindling down so fast-I am so excited, I am such a child! But, I just know P and I are going to have so much fun.
I am going shopping at the tale end of May with B for some new clothes-I am very much looking forward to that as well.  Not just for buying new clothes but for hanging with B. I am lucky to have a groovy friend like her.

Barton=come on!!

I walk at Barton Hall on M=F. Friday I went during my normal time and well they were closed, they had to set up for the big Human Ecology Fashion show. Which, since its the college I work in...I will let it slide.

But, today, for some reason (I guess chalk it up to being paranoid) I called and yep-they are closed again today! GRRR. They are hosting a Passover dinner for students and the community. I guess I cannot be that annoyed but I am on a tight schedule here! I don't have time for closures!

I guess I will read today on lunch instead, and bust it out tomorrow. LH-you better be ready-EO, she's on vacation-lucky dog! I haven't actually sat down and read on lunch in a long time....I guess its ok to swing down a bit-ONLY because I have Zumba tonight.

I didn't have a chance to weigh in this morning I will do that tomorrow morning however...keep you posted.

Losing and X-and if you find it I DO NOT want it back!

Some very exciting news-I lost and X. I know you are asking yourself what is she talking about!

It is not secret I wasn't a XS so, truth time: I used to wear and XXL, I went shopping last weekend (I haven't been in forever! Just didn't want to-didn't feel pretty in anything) and guess what....I lost and X. Yeppers its gone! See Ya, you are out of the park, Don't let the door hit you where the lord split you! And DO NOT come back!

I got some new shirts. Totally out of my comfort zone-ruffles and colors. Yikes, color.  My favorite colors are black and brown, so yellow, blue and melon are very new to me! Hold your breath-I even got TWO dresses. One is navy and one is melon! I have two weddings plus the TN trip so they are light, girly and fun. Yeah-I might actually like shopping again! We shall see.

This is the one dress (Mellon NOT white)

And the navy one is similar, just no cap sleeves and a little long.

Have a great day!

Playlist

I have been asked multiple times what I have spinning (can you say that on an iPod?) on my playlist. It is seriously a total mesh of things! I have such a strange playlist- I like everything...for real! It is actually really scary if you think about the drastic difference in songs.

Some of my favorite tunes are:
ACDC: Shook Me All Night Long
Enrigue Iglesias: Tonight or I Like It
Jennifer Lopez: On The Floor
Katy Perry: FireWork
Jason Aldean: Dirt Road Anthem
Luke Bryan: All My Friends Say or Someone Else Calling You Baby
Pink: Raise Your Glass
Florence and Machine: Dog Days
Adele: Rolling in the Deep
Chris Daughtry: Any really
Glee: Any really
Chris Young: Beer or Gasoline
Ke$sha: You Love is My Drug or Tik Tok
Kenny Chesney: Any really
Lady Gaga: Poker Face
Maroon 5: Misery
Metro Station: Shake It
Pitbull: Krazy, Hey Baby, or Room Serivce
Rent Soundtrack: Seasons of Love
Sugarland: Stuck Like Glue, All I Want To Do, Stettlin'
Taio Cruz: Dynamite

Ok those are just a few, literally, I have about 1000 songs on my iPhone. And, of course I make strange playlists so I don't have to search for songs. Depends on the mood I am in on what I listen to (Run, Pissed off, Relax, Sad...etc.). But when I walk its always something upbeat and that I can sing. I am sure those at Barton think that I am nuts because I will mouth (and really try hard not to actually sing the songs) all the words to what ever song it is, even if its not appropriate!

I hope you find some sort of a song that you can rock out to and HAVE FUN (isn't that what music is for?)!

Going it alone

Since I have started working out I have always had a friend there with me...walking or Zumba.  Well this week I figured out I can really do this by myself.  B is on vacation and my other friends were busy and couldn't make Zumba and for walking EO and LH were sick today. So I went to Barton by myself, first time ever.

I have to be honest I really didn't want to go, and really not alone. But I bit the bullet and went anyway.  It was fine. At first, honestly, I thought everyone was looking at me. Which, is stupid since they were all doing their own things. Playing basketball, running, lifting, working, etc. But it just felt that way.

I walked for 50 minutes, and since my playlist was crazy I busted it out!  I am pretty sure if they do look at me they think I nuts since sing the lyrics the whole time! Lets just hope they cannot read my lips too! HA.  (Naughty!)

I have a few more updates....just need to get to them, have a great Friday!

Arms...dear lord-why?

Ok ladies lets face it...most of us have them: Bye Bye Arms. Yeppers I really do! Can I say that I love them...nope; wait, do I even like them...nope! Therefore I am putting myself through h**l to get them to actually go bye bye!

I looked up arm excersies on the internet found some really helpful items however, I needed someone to actually show me-insert JF. (I cannot go to the gym as I am a germ-a-phob) He is a dance dad (those of you who do not know what that means his daughter takes dance with mine), state trooper, works out all-the-time, so I said self "what a better reference".  Mind you I am pretty sure I am the only dance mom he talks to...and I think that is only because of our kids.  But I asked anyway.

I said "JF, what can I do to get rid of my bye bye arms?"
Insert the face of what the hell are you talking about (it was really funny actually)
JF "You mean your triceps?"
TD "yea those"
And he proceeded to show me like four arm work outs-in the middle of the dance studio lobby area-ha-yeah that was a sight!

Anyway, the one he told me to do...get this...the skull crasher. What the hell kinda name is that? Come on...doesn't it just sound F-U-N!! I know yout want to try it.  Needless to say I was pretty sure I was going to end up with a big old goose egg.  I am happy to report that night 1 of the skull crasher, mine is fully intact and unharmed...for now!

After the low number...

Yeppers still dwelling on the fact I only lost 1 pound, I know its still a loss.

I busted my a** today at the track with EO (thanks for the cone talk) we walked probably like 15 extra minutes. I felt great! I cannot believe I just said that!

And then I went to Zumba tonight-busted it there too...felt right, good, fun!

Back on track with eating today, stuck to my calories! I went back to fruit, yogurt and granola too.

I took today off to spend with the kids since it is Spring break, excited to spend a fun day with them. I love them so much!
Happy Tuesday,

Week 5 check in

Happy Monday!

Yes its raining and blah but its got to be really close to Spring...right?

I lost 1 lb!!

Total loss: 12 lbs!
Days until TN: 64 (yikes-that is coming quick)
So-I have to say 1 pound is good because it's a loss but, I still feel bad it wasn't the goal of 2 I set for myself.  I totally take responsibility for that-yes I busted my butt last week working out but I aslo slacked BIG TIME on the food portion. I kept it under the calories but made some poor choices regarding those calories. Back on the wagon this week. I will have one free day-Thursday, because I am going out with friends but other than that-FOCUS!  TN is coming so quick! So excited!

Why is it...

I know 7 lbs isn't a lot...per se. *yes I am still proud of myself* but riddle me this Batman...why is it when you start to lose the lbs its always from the boobs? Okay, I will be the first to admit that I don't really care either way but I guess after the kids I got used to them-they are there. Ya know. But its so annoying because now my 'used to perfectly fit' bra no longer does! Ugh, like I want to go and buy a new one. I had a terrible time finding this one. Oh well-I don't wish to gain it back. I will have to go shopping. Any takers? Ha.

So needless to say I had to look it up....here is the answer...I guess.  Thanks LiveStrong.com.

Have a nice Wednesday...

Zumba with a Cause

It Sunday, today is weigh in day for me...I hope I am still on track. I am not going to  weigh myself until the kids go for nap. But I have a few things to catch up on.

First, I am going to start a arm 'lift' thing. I want to try and tone (if you can call it that) my bye bye arms.  I googled and found tons of information on the www.  That should be fun-tee hee.

Secondly, yesterday was the Zumbathon for the American Heart Association.  It was for 2 hours! Dear lord-luckily she took nice breaks (thanks Serena).  There was a chinese auction...she raised...wait for it... $1500! It was great and so much fun!

Have a great day!

Zumba

Saturday was my first experience with Zumba. B has been going for months and has always tried to get me to go..I am not sure what changed my mind but...sure I will go. Maybe its that I am feeling better about myself-who knows.  However, I had a blast.

I totally thought because I was a cheerleader for 4 years that I would have some sort of coordination-but, um, yeah, right! Ha. I can get the feet part down but as soon as you add my arms/hands- I lose it. Why is that? It's like the patting your head and rubbing your belly at the same time I guess!

The music is great, friends are great, the beat is awesome. I  really like.  I went again on Monday and tonight. So I guess I am doing ok. Catching on, I found having J stand in front of me and watching her feet and counting the beats makes a huge difference.  Serena the 'teacher' is awesome, she is fun, energetic, and so nice!

Sum it up: even though I got punched in the head on Saturday by a neighbor person and tonight B punched me in the boob-yep I will continue!

On schedule

The big day came-I weighed myself yesterday-and ...I lost 2 lbs! Yeah! Right on schedule.

I have 92 days before we leave for TN...its a little over 13 weeks.  My goal is 2 lbs a week until then (and of course after).

Just thought I would share.

My first 'run' with EO and LH

It's official I have joined the lunch run club in my office. Okay, okay, I only ran a little but day one was more about breathing correctly. Which FYI I previously didn't do!  Remember...I mentioned...I just about died!  So EO is a runner, yoga lady and all that so I asked for assistance and she so happily volunteered! Crazy!

Since we work at Cornell and we have tons of options about working out and exercising. We went to Barton Hall, its a huge indoor track we can use for free.  When we arrive EO teaches me some stretching-which I love that feeling-strange-oh year! Then she coached me on how to breath. I believe her words were "You are going to feel like you are in labor all over again" Seriously-just what I wanted to hear-how did she know-NOT.  But it was more about breathing from your belly therefore you shoulders shouldn't raise too much. It seriously is hard to do, I had to really think about it.

Round one-we started with a S-L-O-W run. Which was fine. LH and EO flanked me (Ha I still have to laugh it just sounds funny) but it did give a me a shield or a comfort zone to speak. Made it one lap-in all fairness the track is bigger than others-I think-it felt that way- then we walked two and then we went running for one more.  After that I think we did  or 3 more laps of walking I cannot really remember. My foot started to hurt and then went numb, even up my leg it went a little numb.  I sat and started to work on my foot, EO an LH ran a couple more. We stretched and EO showed me some plank variations (remember yoga instructor)

My summary: Yes it was hard, but fun in the strangest way. I also felt vulnerable, scared, ashamed-lots of emotions going on. It was nice to have them both so supportive.  Is running my thing, I am not sure yet.  EO and LH were very concerned about my foot (secretly I was too) but I also have dealt with it my whole life so I kinda know my limit (sometimes).  EO doesn't think running is my 'thing', but I am not ready to give up ...yet.  At the very least I am still going to go with them M, W, F and walk-because I need cardio.  As long as they will have me still in the lunch running club I will go.

Now onto the funny part of the experience. Yes there are many.
1: Sports bras-come on-who invited them, a man I am sure.  Even thought you get the best one possible I still do no feel like there is enough support...hence wearing two shirts.

2: Why me---while we were there their were MANY people running, old, young, fast, slow and steady, barefoot *yuck*, ROTC people....I just wanted  as few people as possible. But, I guess to get over the fear of people watching...because really they weren't.  They were doing their own thing, concentrating on running...perhaps breathing?

3: The HOT army guys. COME ON!!!! Yep, there was one very hot army dude doing his pull ups, push ups, and what not. Dear lord....seriously.  He wasn't paying any attention at all to what we or anyone else was doing, but, LH and I were paying attention to him. EO, well since she is from CA she doesn't really understand...but LH she is on my wave length.  He had a tatoo on his forearm..nice! Ok, enough.

So all and all, very proud of myself for going and trying. And I am kinda excited for next week.  I have another new exprience to tell you about too!

Biggest Loser/TN

Since mother nature is having yet another fit and provided the great state of NY with more snow-I plugged into the Biggest Loser game from the Wii-it was a workout.  I did the beginner-23 minutes and then I also did 18 min yoga workout...damn that Bob!

But, I have a few end goals in sight, I am going to TN in June for the CMA music fest! So excited. I am going to drive down by myself and just go on an adventure! Can't wait...anyone want to join you are more than welcome...so its time to get serious and shed the lbs.

I will tell you about my other goals once I get more details...happy Saturday!

29 degrees

Today was the day-or should  I say tonight was the night.  I left at 7:50 pm to do my first 'walk/run'.  And here I am alive to report the situation.  The weather was 29 degrees no wind, and it was actually really peaceful-which lately I need.  Just hearing my feet on the track in beat with my ipod.

Let's start with Mother Nature's sick joke of having it snowing, windy, and cold....again.  Half the track was covered in snow therefore leaving me to the option of running half, turning around, and going back to where I started...no big deal to me. Luckily the part of the track that was clean was the part mostly lit up.

I walked a total of 1.25 miles and ran .25 miles. Not very much in the grand picture of things for running but still over all 1.5 miles for day 1 is pretty good, so I think.

Now, the funny part, dear lord-I thought I was going to seriously die from the little part of running I did. I was packing some serious wind-it was cold and it hurt.  But I kept going, just concentrating on the music on my groovy running play list (thanks Fergie) and it worked. So I have changed the plan a bit-I am going to run .25 this week and walk the rest and next week bump it up to a half. Its going to take time, I am not going to become a marathon runner over night-pretty sure on that one.

I am however going to ask my friend E on how the heck I am supposed to breathe while practically dieing!  She is a huge runner so I know she will hold the answer!

Til later...T.

I've got friends in all places...

So last night after grocery shopping I said to myself "Tomorrow is the day, starting going". We I wake up this morning and BAM-the wind is blowing 25+ mph, the snow is everywhere, roads covered. Ok, so the track would have been cleaned from yesterday's weather of nearly 60 degrees but now that is a high of 30--not so much! Ugh.

Last week after telling B about my 'plan', she is very supportive *unlike some people*.  A few days later she facebook's me and says I have a litle something coming along to show her support...hum. That women is so thoughtful!

Today is son's birthday (shout out to D-dog, thats really not his name, just a nickname, Happy 7th Birthday) so I drop Alyvia off and she gives me the gift.  Wait for it:
 The Biggest Loser [Wii Game]

Yep she got me the Wii Biggest Loser 'game'.  She was scared I was going to take it the wrong way...but, after seeings Mother Nature's sick joke this morning....not so much! I would say perfect timing B!

Thanks-
T.

New kicks

Lets start with this statement...I have never had a lot of sneakers from high school until now. I was a cheerleader in high school so we needed special sneakers-matching sneakers-so its safe to say I have never been a huge fan.  I have had the current pair since college, 12 years ago! (I will post a picture someday) Secondly, I have a small situation with my foot, I cannot have arches in them, only in one foot however. Therefore I never took the effort to find sneakers that actually work for me...lazy, perhaps. But, its been very frustrating with not just sneakers but all shoes. My favorite shoes are my Nine West kitten heal pumps, I don't wear them very often due to they KILL my feet.

Off I went, since step 2 of 'the plan' is find good running sneakers. I searched all over, I googled, looked, googled and found:
They look comfy, have low arches (per the google search of them), fun (LOVE THE COLORS) and were in the budget. Originally $59.99 I got them for $31.99-can't complain about that.

I will keep you posted on the actual fit and use of them!

This is it, one shot, one time-that is all you get.

The plan

Like I previously said I Googled for my help and from this website, http://www.wikihow.com/Begin-Running, I came up with: How to Begin Running.
Step 1: Pan to spend 20-30 min. at a time three days each week
Step 2: Obtain some good running shoes
Step 3: Stretch after a run
Step 4: Learn the basics of good running technique
Step 5: Find your stride
Step 6: Breathe (yes a good reminder)
Step 7: Enjoy your self
Step 8: Make a running habit (See below)
I added step 9-load your Ipod! I will share that list with you later.

Expanding on Step 8: Make running a habit.
